The 7th Grade Boys Basketball team closed out their season with a win last Friday against Berwick Academy 52-26. It was a total team effort, where 14 out of 15 Hawks scored. Team Manager, Keoni “Mamba” Delorey got in the game in the second half and scored to the crowd's delight. Team assistant Nathan “good vibes” Duquette also dressed and got into the game in the 4th quarter. The crowd went nuts when Nathan scored on a nice short range jumper. The Hawks finished their last 5 games with a winning record and came together as a team in every possible way. Here's to a successful season, go Hawks!
Hunger Games tournament this Wednesday night to have fun and benefit a local family who lost their home to a fire. The Hunger Games is a huge game where students run around the gym and try to avoid many obstacles and fellow tributes. This permission slip is also available on the gym doors. Please join us!
Our 7th grade team wrapped up their season Friday evening at Berwick Academy with a win! These girls came together dispite a challenging start. They continued to work hard, develop fundamentals, believe in each other and had fun doing it.
They ended the season 5-8!

The sixth graders are bursting into the new year with a little sweet treat and some pencils from their teachers. We know 2024 is going to be a great year!

Check out the sixth grade social scientists! Students in Mrs. Butler's and Mrs. Lawson's Social Studies classes are trying their hands at the social sciences- studying human behavior and society. The students are exploring artifacts, making inferences in an excavation activity and learning about how historians discover the ancient world.
Last week MMS Band and Chorus classes enjoyed performances by the Blue Hawks.
Are you ready for Wednesday night? We are going to have a fun night at MMS! Please join us for either Dodgeball or Dungeons and Dragons. In the gym there will be a Dodgeball tournament. Get your groups of 5 kids together or sign up as an individual player to be added to a team. At the same time there will be a Dungeons and Dragons campaign happening. Both events cost $5.00 to play. The money will be going to help the Community Closet in Room 107. The event is from 5:30 to 7:00. Permission slips are on the gym doors. Turn your permission slip into Mrs. Caverly. .

Student Council is holding its annual SPOOKTASTIC VIRTUAL PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST. There are 6 different categories that you can enter your creation(s) in. A PADLET link has been pushed out to you through your social studies Google Classroom--be on the lookout. The contest runs until Monday, Oct. 30th. Winners will be announced Tuesday, Oct. 31st.
8th grade students enrolled in Spanish 1 were asked to respond to the question '¿De dónde eres?' (Where are you from?) after listening to their teacher read aloud the book ¿De dónde eres? by Yamile Saied Méndez. In this book, a young girl is asked this question by her classmates, but with the additional comment of 'but really.' The girl, confused, asks her grandfather where she is from. He answers her by describing the geography, people, animals, feelings, and histories of the various places her family comes from. Students were asked to do the same; to choose one element that best describes , for them, where they are from, and to describe that in Spanish words and with a visual.

Mrs. Wood is working with the MMS students to unlock their culinary potential with exciting cooking lessons! Take a look at the mouthwatering dishes these middle schoolers put together. The sixth graders made English muffin pizzas, the 7th graders made fried rice and the 8th graders made croque monsieur from France after studying a bit about France.
