Extended Learning Opportunities (ELOs) Program We are excited to announce our third recipient of the Maine Career Exploration Badge (MCEB) The MCEB is an initiative funded by Jobs for Maine Graduates (JMG) that incentivizes student to explore a potential job/career. Students engage in 40 hours of meaningful work and. complete an online job/career readiness course. The goal is for students to be challenged by specific aspects of their job while learning skills necessary for success in the workforce. Upon completion, students are awarded a $500.00 stipend by JMG. Colin Sunderland successfully completed his experience in early childhood education. Upon graduation, Colin is planning on joining the National Guard, working on a criminal justice degree and exploring a career as a Game Warden.

Extended Learning Opportunities Students exploring careers in automotive repair had the opportunity to visit Moody's Automotive in Biddeford recently for a site visit and job shadow. Students met with experts in the field, observed most current practices and received career advice. It was interesting to note this Moody's is one of the few Tesla certified shops in the area. Students were also provided with information and guidance on the application and hiring process. Additionally, students learned of the career advancement and course reimbursement incentives offered by some companies.

Congrats to Andre Clark who earned All New England honors with a 5th place finish in the 55 m dash. It’s the second year in a row that Andre has placed at the New England Indoor Track Championships. His teammate Maya Sanzone ran a personal best time in the mile crossing the line in 5:29.82. Great work Hawks!
