Last week the 7th and 8th graders had the opportunity to take part in the MLTI conference. The theme of this year’s conference was: MLTI Launches Space2Connect! The intent of the conference theme is to reflect the many interpretations of space and connection as they relate to Maine students and their use of technology today. Students had the option to sign up for a variety of sessions some of the options included digital collage making, student podcasting and even an animation. Ms. Macedo organized the sign ups and gave t-shirts to staff and students that participated in the digital conference.
The last track and field meet was held Thursday, May 26 and the students had an amazing experience. Many students broke personal records! Thanks to our coaches Mr. Oberg, Ms. White and Mrs. Sanzone for all their energy, expertise and time.

Congratulations on the MMS Track and Field Team for an incredible meet Thursday at York. Some highlights include Grace P running the 400 meter for the second week in a row, arguable the hardest event in track. Libby O crushing the 400 in a blistering 75 seconds. The entire distance crew destroying their mile times from last week including Alice W, Emily K, Maya S Nate K, Jackson W and Evan N. Griffin S chucking the discus more that 83 feet and then being convinced to run the relay so his buddies could complete!
Jarahmiah L missing the high jump and then entering an event he had never tried before-the shot put. Ellie Z improving her shot put throw by more than 7 feet. David D for jumping nearly 15 feet in the long jump. Zeph L and Tommie M for joining track within the last week and absolutely slaying in all of their events.
Every single athlete should be unbelievable proud of their performances yesterday. Last, but not least, a very special shout out to 8th grader Henri R, who not only broke the school record in the mile, but did it running under 5 minutes with a time of 4:59-- an obscenely fast time and record that will surely stand for a long, long time or at least until he breaks it again! Congratulations to everyone!
