Where did you grow up and go to school?
I was born in Boston and at the age of 8 years old my family moved to Kennebunk. I attended Kennebunk High School until my sophomore year and then went to Grier School in Tyrone Pennsylvania, a private all-girls school with a great equestrian program. When I was 19 years ol I moved to Maui, Hawaii, and lived there for 28 years.
Where did you attend college?
I received y Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Hawaii Maui College and received my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Why did you want to become a nurse?
I wanted to become a nurse and be of service to others and care for people in my community
Was there a particular person in your life that impacted your career choice or was your role model?
My stepmother influenced me to pursue nursing. She was an amazing Naval nurse during the Vietnam War who dedicated her career to helping others. She worked in pediatric and psychiatric nursing until she retired.
Why do you like working with kids?
I love working with kids because kids are our future. I believe each individual person has their own gifts to share in this world. Supporting kids' health and well-being in school provide them a platform to learn, grow and discover their own unique talents.
What are some things you enjoy when not in school?
I enjoy gardening, mediation, hiking, boating, skiing, and dancing. Creativity brings me happiness. I make jewelry, facial oils, succulent plant, and floral arrangements.
Family life?
I have one amazing daughter who is 15 years old and attends Traip Academy in Kittery.
