Can you name some of the color schemes we used? Try to identify which self-portraits use warm, cool, or complementary color schemes.
For this assignment, students submitted a portrait of themselves or took one in class based on the best version of their personality and inner feelings. Playful, serious, proud, curious, and/or silly are just a few emotions that students desired to capture within their facial expressions.
Continuing on, students line, color, and texture as elements of art to create smooth facial features and brush strokes of acrylic paint within their work. Using color psychology, students chose warm, cool, or complementary colors to name a few.
The background of our self-portraits is created by marbling with shaving cream and liquid watercolor paints!
Thank you to Mrs. Balsiger and the sixth-grade art students for the beautiful display in the sixth-grade hallway.
