Surrounded by balloons and colorful handmade signs with messages of acceptance and kindness, MHS Integrated Studies students held their 2nd annual Autism Awareness Day on 4/11. The students researched facts about Autism, printed them out and attached them to lollipops to give away. They selected bracelets and ribbons to add to the swag available to the entire school community for free at the Awareness table. In addition, students shared information about how to support a student with Autism and the wonderful ways that autistic brains work. Hundreds of school community members interacted with the students throughout the day, with many advisory groups visiting together to offer support and educate themselves.
