Great News from Marshwood High School
Kelly Crowley
On Tuesday, June 4th, the freshmen class held a tree dedication ceremony to conclude their year of service. This year freshmen advisories dedicated their time by donating items to the South Berwick Food Pantry, raising over $400 for A House for ME, reading stories to children at Leaps and Bounds Daycare, and beautifying our school grounds with flowers and trees. Two Crabapple trees were provided by Wentworth Greenhouse and were planted at the cafeteria patio. One of the trees is dedicated to the staff at Marshwood High School. A plaque, provided by Seacoast Printing, reads, 'Teachers plant the seeds of forever-growing knowledge'. It can be found at the base of the tree. The other tree is dedicated to the Parents of Marshwood High School students. Its plaque says, 'Strong roots produce beautiful leaves.' Both plaques say, 'Planted by the class of 2027' with the hope that in years to come, students can return to MHS, look upon the trees and reflect on their roots and where they came from.
