MGWS Celebrates Our Veterans
On Thursday November 7th, MGWS celebrated our Veterans and active Military personnel.
Local VFW Post 5744 posted the colors at the start of the assembly. Great Works Chorus sang “The Star Spangled Banner” and "A Tribute To The Armed Services”. Fifth grade band also performed.
Ten students were chosen to read their essays “Veterans, This Is Why We Honor You”.
Sailors from the USS Cheyenne (SSN-773), a Los Angeles Class submarine stationed at PNSY were guests to answer questions from the students.
Mrs. Morse’s fifth grade class read and preformed the story “The Missing Man Table, America’s White Table”.
After the assembly, students and their Veteran guests attended a special breakfast.
