UNH Dietetic Intern Kelley Shanahan Visits Eliot Elementary School

On November 19th, UNH Dietetic Intern Kelley Shanahan visited Eliot Elementary School's third-grade classrooms to discuss the importance of dairy in our diet. Kelley talked about how dairy foods were made, what a serving of dairy looks like, and what nutrients dairy provides. The students were asked to present an interpretive dance that reflects the key terms that they learned in class (ex: pasteurization, calcium, protein, etc.). This fun activity was used to reinforce the idea that a diet rich in dairy helps kids grow and stay active.
