Central School 1926

It’s Central School’s 100th Birthday!!

Hike Through History 2025

Central School was built in the heart of South Berwick in 1925. The citizens of South Berwick decided to consolidate all of the town’s one-room schoolhouses and send their children to one school -Central School.

This year the Hike Through History theme focuses on celebrating our beloved school and how it and our community have changed and evolved over the past 100 years.

We would like to gather some personal history and memories and find students who attended Central School during the past 100 years. If you are interested in sharing that information with our 3rd grade students, please email Mrs. Moore, a 3rd grade teacher at Central School, at rachel.moore@rsu.35.org .

We would like to know:

  1. Your name and/or the name of a family member that you know attended Central School

  2. Years and grade levels attended at Central School

  3. Any connections to current Central School

students

  1. Optional: If you are willing to share any memories or information about the time you spent at Central School with our 3rd grade students, please add your memory or information in your email.

***Also, we’d love to have any Central School “Alumni Hikers” join us for the opening ceremony for this year’s Hike Through History. The date is Friday, May 30 with a rain date of Monday,  June 2. Opening Ceremonies start at 9:00. We’d love to have you join us!
