Marshwood boys varsity soccer loses a very well played contest to a tough Windham team 2-0. The jv won their match 3-2 vs Windham

Hi All,
Due to facility issues, the Marshwood JV Football game time at S Portland Monday 9/27 is being moved from 4:30 pm to 6 pm. The bus will now leave at 3:50 pm from the lower lot by the stadium.

Friday 9/24 - this afternoon’s varsity field hockey game, Marshwood at South Portland, has been postponed to TBA @mhshawks

Marshwood scores today. Volleyball sweeps defending state champ Falmouth 3-0. Girls soccer drops a pair at Windham. Varsity 4-0 and JV 5-2.

Varsity Golf drops a nail biter to Kennebunk, losing 8-5 Marshwood’s Zach Glidden and Kennebunk’s Cole Binnette both shot 38 (+2) to tie for Low Medalist. Connor Carey (45) and Aidan Pride (49) also scored points for the Hawks.

Due to the impending weather (heavy rain and thunder/lightning) forecasted for Friday, we are moving the Varsity Football game from Fri night to Sat night (9/25) vs South Portland at 6pm.
Boys soccer games vs Windham from 11am Sat morning to 2pm (both JV & V) for field prep.

Golf improves to 6-1, Tops Bidd 10 1/2-2 1/2! MHS Sr Zach Glidden shot 38 (+2) to take Low Medalist honors, for the Hawks . Also scoring for the Hawks: Sydney Pergerson (41, 2 points), Connor Carey (53, 1.5 points), Aidan Pride (41, 2 points), and Liam Adams (51, 2 points).

Set 1: 25 to 16 W
The Marshwood girls jumped all over Massabesic early. With multiple 3,4,and 5 point runs the game was never in jeopardy. They finished strong and cruised to a win.
Set 2: 25 to 18 W
The second set started strong for Marshwood. The match was back and forth until late. The girls closed the game out with a 6 point run to secure the victory.
Set 3: 25 to 21 W
This was the closest of the three sets. Marshwood again took an early lead and stretched it to a 10 point advantage. Massabesic answered back with 7 straight unanswered points. Marshwood responded though, going point for point to close out the game.

FH scores today at Noble. Varsity dropped their game 5-0 to Noble and JV ended in a 0-0 tie

Marshwood Girls Race to Runner Up Finish, Boys 7th at the Southern Maine Classic
The Marshwood cross country team competed in the Southern Maine Classic on Saturday, an invitational featuring over 20 teams from central and southern Maine on Gorham's Narragansett School 5k course. The girls team was second overall and were led by Sarah McClellan, who was 5th overall with a PR of 19:12. Addie Fuller was second for the Hawks, finishing 11th overall in 20:09, while Catie McClellan (17th, 20:43), Maggie Chamberlain (21st, 20:53), and Emma Tessier (27th, 21:07) rounded out the scorers for the Hawks. Bonny Eagle won the meet with 34 points, followed by Marshwood (73) and Gorham (107), who were the top 3 schools in the 20 team field.
In the boys race, Braden Butler paced the Hawks, finishing 12th overall in 17:11. Finn Theos (29th, 18:04) was the second Marshwood runner across the line, with Sam DeGrappo (47th, 18:28), Hayden Sawyer (79th, 19:09) and Luke Dockham (81st, 19:10) rounding out the Hawk scoring. The boys team was 7th overall out of 24 scoring teams, with Cape Elizabeth winning the team title.
